International Volunteer Day 2017

Tuesday December 5

“Volunteers Act First. Here. Everywhere.”

International Volunteer Day (IVD) 2017, celebrated worldwide on December 5, is a recognition of the positive solidarity of volunteers around the world who answer calls in times of crisis, helping save lives today and supporting those who want to continue living their lives with dignity tomorrow. #VolunteersActFirst

Volunteers are leading social change around the world. This special day promotes the work of volunteers at all levels, including local, national and international.

United Nations Volunteers founded International Volunteer Day in 1985.

The Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau celebrates all our neighbours who volunteer locally and around the world on this day of recognition.
